Merton Council and their contractor have made us aware of the following recent and planned tree works:
“Barkland Tree Services, removed the two dead and leaning Elms in the woodland yesterday. All debris has been cut and stacked along the path edge.
[Merton] would also like to give you early notice of our intention to remove a defective Common Ash located to the rear of the café within the next 4 weeks, this tree’s position is shown below. This mature tree is compromised by decay and can no longer be safely retained in its current location.
As standard practice, we will post details on our Planned Tree Works page prior to the works, display signage on and around the tree, and given its locality coordinate the works to minimise disruption to the café and any nearby activities.
I would also like to highlight that we will be surveying the park in its entirety over the next couple of months, and further tree works are anticipated following this inspection.
The Ash tree in question is that highlighted in the image below.”
