Working together for Wimbledon Park
Wimbledon Park is a Grade II* listed park in the heart of south west London, designed by Capability Brown in the 1760s. The Friends of Wimbledon Park (FOWP) is a “Charitable Incorporated Organisation” (CIO, Charity Number 1211838) that aims to give a voice to local people, community groups and other interested parties, to protect and enhance this well-loved landscape for future generations.

The Lake
The lake is at the heart of Wimbledon Park. It supports a wealth of wildlife and activities.

History
The famous landscape designer Capability Brown was employed in 1764 by Earl Spencer.

Getting Here
There is excellent public transport via tube (District Line), train and various bus routes.

Formed in 2012, the Friends of Wimbledon Park is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO): Charity Number 1211838, with the aim of preserving, protecting and improving our heritage Wimbledon Park.
We have a long-term vision to protect the green open space and important wildlife habitats, while also striking a healthy balance between the needs of the many different park users, including families, sportspeople, dog walkers, anglers, and others visiting Wimbledon Park.
